Golden Whistle for Carolina de la Fuente

Argentine umpire Carolina De la Fuente received the FIH Golden Whistle from FIH President Leandro Negre on Thursday, as she has reached her 100th senior international game: the semifinal between Germany and England at the EuroHockey Nations Championships.

De La Fuente is the 27th female umpire to receive a golden whistle.

Her career highlights include two Olympic Games, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, including the final. Two World Cups Perth 2002 and Madrid 2006, and three Champions Trophies in Rosario 2004, Canberra 2005 and Quilmes in 2007 and the last EuroHockey Nations Championships in Manchester.
