The International Hockey Federation (FIH) updated the ABN AMRO Women’s World Rankings as a result of the Women’s Pan Am Cup. The final ranking of the event played in Bermuda didn’t have a major effect on these rankings.

Winner Argentina keeps the second place in the ABN AMRO Women’s World Rankings, while runner-up USA remains ninth. Surprising semifinalist Trinidad & Tobago made the biggest move, climbing from the 42nd to the 25th position.

Olympic Champion Netherlands is the ABN AMRO World Ranking leader.

As a result of the Women’s Pan Am Cup, Argentina is qualified for the FIH Women’s World Cup 2010. USA, Chile, Trinidad & Tobago, Canada and Mexico will get another chance through one of the three World Cup Qualification Tournaments.

The ABN AMRO World Rankings for both men and women will be updated after each FIH World Level Event and each Continental Championship in 2009.
