FIH announces Men’s Player of the Year nominees

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is pleased to announce the nominated players for the 2009 Men’s Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year.

All players participating at the ABN AMRO Champions Trophy had their chance to vote and out of the votes received, the FIH established a short list. The winners of the Awards will come out of this selection.

The winners will be announced during the final weekend of the ABN AMRO Champions Trophy in Melbourne, Australia.

The nominees are:

Men’s Player of the Year 2009

  • Pol Amat (ESP)
  • Jamie Dwyer (AUS)
  • Barry Middleton (ENG)
  • Teun de Nooijer (NED)
  • Jong Ho Seo (KOR)
  • Christopher Zeller (GER)

Men’s Young Player of the Year 2009 – born in 1986 or later

  • Simon Child (NZL)
  • Sergi Enrique (ESP)
  • Tobias Hauke (GER)
  • Ashley Jackson (ENG)
  • Robbert Kemperman (NED)
  • Eddie Ockenden (AUS)
