Comfortable Win for China
18 Aug 2004 10:38

CHINA 3 SPAIN 0

China consolidated their position at the top of their group with a comfortable 3-0 win against Spain. Two first half goals and a late third was enough to secure the points but they must be concerned about their failure to convert the ten penalty corners they earned.

Kim Changback (China coach): "We now have a great opportunity to show all of China about hockey and this is an enormous opportunity to attract players in the build up to Beijing in 2008. We will be going all the way against Argentina in our next match."

Silvia Munoz (Spain midfielder): "We started with two very tough games and it's now clear we're not to make the semi finals. That was our goal but it's impossible now, however if we finish 5th that would be an achievement."
