Infostrada Sports win prestigious prize
19 Nov 2007 13:49

Infostrada recently started its activities in media service for the FIH. It’s growing reputation as the world's leading provider of media services at major sporting events was rewarded with a prestigious prize at the inaugural ISEMS SportBusiness awards in London last week.

The Dutch company won first prize in the Media Services category for providing what the judges described as an 'outstanding' news service at the Asian Games in Doha last December.

Infostrada's team of about 150 staff and 350 volunteers were commended for their outstanding efforts, according to Kevin Roberts, SporstBusiness MD.

Infostrada has offices in London, Sydney and Copenhagen as well as their HQ in the Netherlands, and the prize was accepted by Philip Hennemann, the company's founder and CEO.

He thanked his colleagues for a job that was widely recognized as a model for media services and also praised Nigel Rushman and the Rushmans company for working in such good partnership in the overall project.

'A word of special thanks should be directed to Patrick Furlong and Reg Gratton of the Asian Games Organizing committee which took the innovative approach to outsource the full content and news operation. Because of their confidence and vision Infostrada Sports has been able to take this opportunity with both hands and win the prize' mr. Hennemann said.

Since their success in Doha, Infostrada Sports have run the successful event news service at the Rugby World Cup in France and are now in the running for Beijing 2008, which would be their fourth Olympic Games as a contractor. Infostrada, who acquired the renowned London sports writing agency Hayters in 2006, also provide sports news, data and multimedia content to a wide range of clients around the world.
